فى قوالب كتير فى ويكيبيديا مصرى بتعتمد علي ويكيبيانات و ده ليه ناحيتين الأولي ان حجم المقاله ككيلو بايت حيقل كتير لكن بالمقابل ودا الأهم المعلومات هتكون بتتحدث باستمرار لأنه باقى المشاريع و الويكهات بتحدث على ويكيبيانات, أى رأيك فى النقطه دى و خصوصا انى بشوف كتير مشاريع بتعتمد مركزيه البيانات من ويكيبيانات دلوقتي يعنى بيدو بدايات مقالات بتفتح المجال قدام اللى عايز يشارك و يطورها و بالأخص اللى جاى جديد و ماعندوش خبره بتقسيمة مقال الويكيبيديا

انا شفت ويكى قوالب و استخدمتهم . قوالب لعيبة التنس فيها حاجات اكتر عشان كده مش باحط ويكى قوالب ف صفح لعيبة التنس. لو فيه حاجه تتعمل علشان القوالب ف اخر الصفح تكون زيهم ده هايحل ربط الصفح. تصغير حجم الصفح بيكون ليه فوايد زى ما حضرتك كتبت. --

تمصير الصفح اللى مش مكتوبه بالمصرى بياخد مجهود و وقت كتير. كل ده علشان واحد قص و لزق من مكان تانى من غير ترجمه. مافيش حد ملزم يكمل شغل حد تانى . بالخصوص لما اللى ابتدا الصفحه ماهتمش يلتزم باسلوب الكتابه الصح. فيه صفح موجوده من شهور كتير ماتعدلتش عشان تكون بالمصرى. الصفح ده هاتتمسح حسب مبادئ ويكيبيديا مصرى. --

You might know the new interface for edit conflicts (currently a beta feature). Now, Wikimedia Germany is designing an additional interface to solve edit conflicts on talk pages. This interface is shown to you when you write on a discussion page and another person writes a discussion post in the same line and saves it before you do. With this additional editing conflict interface you can adjust the order of the comments and edit your comment. We are inviting everyone to have a look at

First let me say I apologize for writing in English, the computer I'm using does not have Arabic keyboard. Second congrats on reaching this huge milestone it is great but I feel the quality matters more than quantity. It seems to me the articles are being added via a script or programmatically not but by a real person. I'm not trying to attack anybody here, I've always loved Wikipedia Masri and used to be active here and members know that. It is my opinion that we should enhance and enrich the current articles instead of being in a competition with others, way back when I joined I used to see articles that have meat in it not a sentence per section with tons or resources that are more than the article itself. Another thing is lots of small articles use English in Arabic letters which does not look right to me. .

First of all thanks for your concern, I agree with you that quality matters more than quantity, what I'm trying to do here is variety in subjects, as for the English letters some names are scientific and some are just numbers and letters so I believe it's better to write it as it, the same thing goes in English Wikipedia as they use Latin letters in some names like the names of cities.

و ما اعترضناش , لسا ما شرحش ازاى أنا أسأت أستخدام صلاحياتى بعد أكتر من 400 ألف مقاله! و كل التطوير اللى عملتو, لسا ما شرحش ازاى غالى و هو مؤسس ويكيبيديا مصرى ممكن يكون عندو نيه و لو واحد بالمليار انو يسئ لويكى مصرى , ازاى بعد 12 سنه من الجهد و التعب و بعد ما بقت ويكى مصرى بالمرتبه 21 عالميا مش محتاجه بيروقراط, ليه أحنا الوحيدين اللى مطلوب مننا ناخد صلاحيتنا من الميتا ؟ هل دا بيتطبق فى الويكيهات اللى ترتيبها أقل مننا ؟؟ أخيرا المضيف مش اله و من حقنا كأدمن محليين نعرف أسباب أى تصرف بيتصرفوه عندنا و الا ايه فايدتنا ؟ ما نروح نسلمهم ويكيبيديا مصرى و همه اللى يديروها , النقاش بيدور عن ان تصرفهم كان بهدف حمايه الموسوعه! حمايتها من مين ؟ من اللى بيطورو فيها

Any new administrator rights have to be approved by the stewards

I am writing to clarify some of the points that have been discussed recently. This is to the best of my knowledge.
User:Al-Dandoon
account was related to
another account
that has been blocked previously
The account on Wikipedia masry was active and created many new articles. This was welcomed by Wikipedia masry users and. Nomination was made for
User:Al-Dandoon
account to be a sysop. The nomination stayed open from 25 February 2020 until 19 March 2020 when it was granted. That was based on three sysops supporting the nomination. There is no minimum number of votes required on Wikipedia masry
There has been some edits changing involving
User: HitomiAkane
and one of the Stewards
User: HitomiAkane
requested to be Interface administrators, After reviewing the rule , I found it would be of benefit to give this to some of the sysops. One of them was unable to get two point verification , so that was removed from their account. There was no requirement for a vote on the page I checked on meta. I am not aware that any of the users given this right have misused them
A review took place by the stewards. It was concluded with the findings that
A vote should have taken place for Interface administrators rights
minimum five votes on a sysop nomination is required on Meta then nomination of
User:Al-Dandoon
should not have been granted
No bureaucrats should be in Wikipedia masry , as rules were not followed as written on meta.
User: HitomiAkane
should not be a sysop because of edits mentioned above and support of
User:Al-Dandoon
who is considered a global Long Term Abuser.
I did not get any notification of these issues until action has been taken.
I found out all this after asking and discussing the issues with some of the stewards
A steward has confirmed that assuming good faith rule was followed in this case.
The bottom line is there has been many misunderstandings here. The stewards work according to rules that govern all wikipedias. There is no point in arguing anything now as the decisions have been made. Any attempt to explain things is not likely going to be successful.
User: HitomiAkane
has been invaluable to Wikipedia masry and I would not like him to stop editing. It will not be of benefit to our wikipedia to lose an active user like him . On the other hand, I appreciate how frustrated he must feels. I hope that this explanation can make the issue clear.
There might be a time when the stewards see our point of view , but we need to prove our case step by step
Continuing in good faith and following all rules, in my opinion, is the best way forward.
Wikipedia Masry is now the 19th largest Wikipedia and I am very proud of what we all have achieved.

Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos (WPWP)
This is to invite you to join the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos (WPWP) campaign to help improve Wikipedia articles with photos and win prizes. The campaign starts today 1st July 2020 and closes 31st August 2020.
The campaign primarily aims at using images from Wikimedia Commons on Wikipedia articles that are lacking images. Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photo images, then add a suitable file from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, etc.) over the years.

Announcing a new wiki project! Welcome, Abstract Wikipedia

Hi all,
It is my honor to introduce Abstract Wikipedia, a new project that has been unanimously approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. Abstract Wikipedia proposes a new way to generate baseline encyclopedic content in a multilingual fashion, allowing more contributors and more readers to share more knowledge in more languages. It is an approach that aims to make cross-lingual cooperation easier on our projects, increase the sustainability of our movement through expanding access to participation, improve the user experience for readers of all languages, and innovate in free knowledge by connecting some of the strengths of our movement to create something new.
This is our first new project in over seven years. Abstract Wikipedia was submitted as a project proposal by Denny Vrandečić in May 2020
after years of preparation and research, leading to a detailed plan and lively discussions in the Wikimedia communities. We know that the energy and the creativity of the community often runs up against language barriers, and information that is available in one language may not make it to other language Wikipedias. Abstract Wikipedia intends to look and feel like a Wikipedia, but build on the powerful, language-independent conceptual models of Wikidata, with the goal of letting volunteers create and maintain Wikipedia articles across our polyglot Wikimedia world.
The project will allow volunteers to assemble the fundamentals of an article using words and entities from Wikidata. Because Wikidata uses conceptual models that are meant to be universal across languages, it should be possible to use and extend these building blocks of knowledge to create models for articles that also have universal value. Using code, volunteers will be able to translate these abstract “articles” into their own languages. If successful, this could eventually allow everyone to read about any topic in Wikidata in their own language.
As you can imagine, this work will require a lot of software development, and a lot of cooperation among Wikimedians. In order to make this effort possible, Denny will join the Foundation as a staff member in July and lead this initiative. You may know Denny as the creator of Wikidata, a long-time community member, a former staff member at Wikimedia Deutschland, and a former Trustee at the Wikimedia Foundation
. We are very excited that Denny will bring his skills and expertise to work on this project alongside the Foundation’s product, technology, and community liaison teams.
It is important to acknowledge that this is an experimental project, and that every Wikipedia community has different needs. This project may offer some communities great advantages. Other communities may engage less. Every language Wikipedia community will be free to choose and moderate whether or how they would use content from this project.
We are excited that this new wiki-project has the possibility to advance knowledge equity through increased access to knowledge. It also invites us to consider and engage with critical questions about how and by whom knowledge is constructed. We look forward to working in cooperation with the communities to think through these important questions.
There is much to do as we begin designing a plan for Abstract Wikipedia in close collaboration with our communities. I encourage you to get involved by going to the project page and joining the new mailing list
