The goal of ACC’s Public Safety Department is to make everyone feel safe while using the College’s facilities. The ACC Public Safety Department provides services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Public Safety officers’ duties typically include promoting crime prevention, checking fire equipment, providing safety escorts, actively patrolling hallways, parking lots, and public areas, and monitoring all campus activities. Officers are equipped with communication equipment that places them in direct contact with one another and local law enforcement agencies. Public Safety officers are selected based on leadership characteristics and the ability to act responsibly on duty. The Public Safety Department is designed to provide additional safety to students, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus.
