The Humane Party
America’s Party of Science and Ethics
The Humane Party is the U.S.A.’s first political party committed to:
Legal rights and personhood for all animals—not just the human kind,
Full realization of an ecosystem-neutral, sustainably prosperous economy, and
Support and election of only those candidates
who have committed to humane values both personally and politically
Milestones
The Humane Party launched on
Earth Day
(April 22), 2009,
registered its first voters
in 2011, first attended the
Animal Rights National Conference
in 2011, and announced the nomination of its first candidate for U.S. President,
Clifton Roberts
, on World Vegan Day (November 1), 2015. Roberts was joined in 2016 by running mate Breeze Harper to form the first fully vegan, abolitionist Presidential ticket in U.S. history. This candidacy marked the beginning of an era in which U.S. voters no longer have to settle for the “lesser of evils” when voting for President.
Other Humane Party milestones include publication of the final drafts of the
Equal Rights Amendment II
and the
Democracy Amendment
in 2015; declaration of the first
Abolition Day
(Dec. 6) in 2015, both to commemorate ratification of the 13th Amendment (1865) and promote the abolition of all slavery; declaration of
Civil Rights Day
(Apr. 9) in 2016, both to commemorate the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and to promote the protection of civil rights; and publication of the final draft of the
Abolition Amendment
on Abolition Day, 2016.
In 2018,
Robert Mason
ran in the U.S. House of Representatives race to represent the Third District of Texas, and
Clifton Roberts
ran in the U.S. Senate race to represent the state of California. The Humane Party also began management of the
Veggie Pride Parade
, the largest event of its kind in the New York area.
In 2019, Ryan Lum of
Happy Healthy Vegan
announced his campaign entry into the 2020 race for Long Beach City Council. Clifton Roberts edged out Robert Mason to win the Humane Party’s first
Presidential primary
, becoming the HP’s 2020
nominee for U.S. President
In 2023,
Brandy Walt announced
her campaign entry into the 2024 presidential election earning the Humane Party’s nomination for U.S. President.
Humane Party chapters are forming in all states, and we need
volunteers
nationwide right now.
Humane Party Team Members
Americans now stand squarely at the crossroads. We can set the United States on a path toward lasting peace and abundant prosperity. Or we can continue toward financial chaos, dependence on foreign resources, environmental destruction, economic disintegration, and moral lethargy.
The Humane Party® is rising to meet the challenge. If you also feel called to action, we invite you to volunteer to be a part of the team—for our country, our planet, and all its inhabitants.
America Now Has A Choice.™
