Cynder is the default central theme for Aurora. It leverages a new block editor page building tool. In addition to a new look and feel, Cynder is our most accessible theme yet with built in checks to help users comply with state and federal regulations.

Sites cloned into Cynder will have a majority of their content converted to blocks, some additional work may be required.

Sites can be created with the default Cynder site and then manually setup.

  • Domain Names

    Specific domains may no longer be requested. You will be provided with a domain name, based on the University’s domain structure and best practices for SEO.

    All new accounts will be setup with draft prefix, for instance:

    draft.sitename.dept.uconn.edu

    draft.fn-ln.scholar.uconn.edu

    draft.sitename.uh.uconn.edu (UConn Health)

    When the site is ready to GO-LIVE, we will remove the word draft.

  • This request is being sent sent to University Communications and the Affiliation Communicator, they will work with you to assign the appropriate domain. This may take a several days depending on the request.

    Once the domain has been approved, the request with the temporary domain will be sent to ITS Web Development to have the account created. You will then receive an email with the Account information.
