Explore Tuition and Aid
We have lowered our undergraduate tuition price to $19,990 beginning in the Fall of 2026 and launched the “Emory & Henry Tuition Promise,” a program that will cover the cost of tuition for Virginia students who meet financial eligibility criteria. Under the program, new students who are Virginia residents with a household gross income (AGI) of $85,000 or less and a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 3,000 on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will receive federal, state, and University gift aid that will
completely cover
the cost of tuition. The Emory & Henry Promise applies to new undergraduate students and transfer students beginning Fall of 2026.

Do I have to submit all documents at the same time as my application?
No. Application materials can be submitted with or after submission of your admission application. If you do not submit all materials upon submission of your application you will be notified of missing requirements.
Where do I mail my transcript(s)?
You will need to request official transcript(s) be sent to Emory & Henry. Transcripts can be mailed to Emory & Henry’s address or requested electronically from their high school guidance office to be emailed to
admission@emoryhenry.edu

Is SAT or ACT required for admission?
We are test-score optional at this time. For admission to Emory & Henry University, a student should complete the application for admission and submit their official transcripts from high school and/or for any college or university coursework.
What is your average GPA for admission?
The average GPA for new incoming students: First-Year 3.5 or Transfer 3.3
Do you accept application fee waivers?
Applications for undergraduates are free to complete with either the
E&H application
or the
Common App
. Therefore, Emory & Henry University does not accept application fee waivers.
Do you give credit for AP (Advanced Placement) Test?
Yes. Emory & Henry College offers credit for AP Test based on specific scores related to specific subjects. See a list of Courses and Test Scores in our Academic Catalog.
What is the deadline to apply?
Mid-July
When will I hear back about an admissions decision?
We offer rolling admissions and typically once all documents are received you will receive an admissions decision within 24-48 hours.
What type of Financial Aid does Emory & Henry offer?

Does E&H accept the College Scholarship Service (CSS) Financial Aid Profile?
Emory & Henry University does not accept the CSS Profile, we administer our financial aid process through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Does E&H accept the Yellow Ribbon?
Yes. The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill that allows veterans to attend private schools and graduate programs that cost more than the state tuition cap.

Emory & Henry University today announced the launch of the “Emory & Henry Promise,” a program that will cover the cost of tuition for Virginia students who meet financial eligibility criteria. The launch of the tuition Promise builds upon and deepens the institution’s ongoing commitment to accessibility for students in Southwest Virginia and across the Commonwealth.
