Sept 25, 2025  EPA Provides New Tool to Protect Honey Bees, Ensuring Safe and Abundant Food Supply
Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is releasing a final registration decision for one technical and two end use products containing the new pesticide active ingredient Vadescana for control against
Varroa
mites (
Varroa destructor
) in honey bee hives. EPA prioritizes pesticide applications that target
Varroa
mites to provide beekeepers with a variety of tools to combat this pest—a contributor to colony collapse. The agency is committed to supporting the development of innovative products that give the agricultural community the tools they need to ensure our country has a safe and abundant food supply. EPA

Resolutions
The American Beekeeping Federation will work diligently through the self-policing
program funded by the Honey Defense Fund to stop adulteration of honey and urges all its members to help in the fight against adulteration. NOTE: If you have a proposed resolution to request, submit to the Resolutions Committee Co-Chairs prior to the 2025 ABF Conference and Tradeshow. As a reminder, proposals need to be submitted no later than 24 hours prior to the business meeting which is scheduled for Friday, January 10 at 4:00 pm PST.
