Experience Verification
EC-Council verifies work experience submitted in the application by reaching out to the listed verifiers in each candidate’s application. When listing a reference, be sure to inform them EC-Council will be reaching out to verify your experience. Delayed responses from verifiers can extend the application processing times and delay the candidate’s eligibility determination. Verification and approval are typically completed between 5 and 10 working days.
Application Approval
Upon approval of eligibility, the candidate will be notified and provided with purchase links to purchase the CEH Examination. Approvals are valid for 90 days. Application Abandonment
In some cases, EC-Council may need additional information from the candidate to grant eligibility. If information is requested and no responses are given, after 90 days, the application will be considered rejected and candidate will be notified. To reinitiate the eligibility application, a new application will need to be submitted.
Application Rejection
Should a candidate fail to meet the minimum requirements above, submit references that are not valid or don’t respond, or should the candidate abandon their application, eligibility will not be granted, and the applicant will be notified. Applicants are welcome to resolve the reasons for ineligibility and reapply.

Hold a CCISO certification of
version 1.
* (Prior to being accredited, EC-Council’s certifications
were named, based on versions – CCISOv1. During that time,
candidates that attempted the certification exams were vetted
for eligibility. In order to avoid “being double bill”, the
EC-Council Certification department shall issue a waiver of the
application fee of any candidate that has an active CCISOv1
certification and wishes to attempt the CCISO
certification.)
The CCISO program requires the
applicant to have five years of work experience in the CCISO

Applicants who are instructors,
trainers, and PhD’s shall also be eligible if they meet the

The application process can take up
to six weeks depending on how quickly the verifier(s) listed on
the application take to respond.
Applications, questions about the
application process, and inquiries regarding where an

On the application, there is a
section for the applicant to list verifiers for each domain.
Each domain for which the applicant
is claiming experience needs to be verified by a supervisor,
client, peer, or other individual in the position to respond
regarding the applicant’s experience and expertise.
More than one domain may be
verified by each verifier, so it is possible to list one
verifier to verify all domains.
If the application is approved, the
applicant will be sent instructions on purchasing a voucher from
EC-Council directly.
EC-Council will then send the
candidate the exam voucher code which candidate can use to
register and schedule the test.
If application is not approved, the
application fee of USD 100 will not be refunded.
The approved application is valid
for 3 months from the date of approval so the candidate must
purchase a voucher within 3 months. After the voucher codes are
released, the applicant has one year to use the code.

Take the Associate Certified Chief Information Security Officer (A|CCISO) Exam
Candidates who do not have 5 years of experience in 3 of the C|CISO domains for the C|CISO training but have 2 years of experience in at least 1 domain (or who currently hold either the CISSP, CISM or CISA certifications) are qualified for the Associate C|CISO program.
Associate C|CISOs can reapply to the CCISO program and purchase a voucher for 50% off when they accrue the required experience.

Applicants who do not attend
training must prove 2 year of work experience in the Information
Security domain (You will need to pay USD100 as a non-refundable
application fee). The application form found

Applicants who are instructors, trainers, and PhD’s shall also be eligible if they meet the above criteria.
Applicants who have attended an official EC-Council training (All candidates are required to pay the $100 application fee, however your training fee shall include this fee).
If further information is requested from the applicant after the application is submitted and 90 days pass with no response from the applicant, the application will be automatically rejected and a new form will have to be submitted.
On an average an application processing time would be between 5-10 working days once the verifiers on the application respond to EC-Council’s requests for information.
On the application, there is a section for the applicant to list a boss, supervisor, or department lead who will act as their verifier. EC-Council reaches out to the listed verifier to confirm the applicant’s experience.
If the application is approved, the
applicant will be sent instructions on purchasing a voucher from
EC-Council directly. EC-Council will then send the candidate the
eligibility code and the voucher code which candidate can use to
register and schedule the test.

Applicants who do not attend training must have a minimum of 1 year work experience in InfoSec domain (You will need to pay USD100 as a non-refundable application fee). The application form found

Applicants who are instructors,
trainers, and PhD’s shall also be eligible if they meet the
above criteria.
Applicants who have attended an official EC-Council training (All candidates are required to pay the $100 application fee, however your training fee shall include this fee).
If further information is requested
from the applicant after the application is submitted and 90
days pass with no response from the applicant, the application
will be automatically rejected and a new form will have to be
submitted.
Upon submission of all required documents and responses from verifiers the application will be processed within a period of 5 working days.
On the application, there is a
section for the applicant to list a boss, supervisor, or
department lead who will act as their verifier. EC-Council
reaches out to the listed verfier to confirm the applicant’s
experience.
If the application is approved, the
applicant will be sent instructions on purchasing a voucher from
EC-Council directly. EC-Council will then send the candidate the
eligibility code and the voucher code which candidate can use to
register and schedule the test.
If application is not approved, the
application fee of USD 100 will not be refunded.
The approved application is valid
for 3 months from the date of approval so the candidate must
purchase a voucher within 3 months. After the voucher codes are
