INTRODUCTION
Course Overview
Admission Requirements
The philosophy of the B.Sc. Ed programme is tied to the national philosophy on agriculture for self  reliance based on the provision of skilled manpower adequately endowed with in-depth knowledge required for engaging in both teaching profession and economic agricultural production in an environment characterized by adequate land endowment. Such professional manpower has to be produced in an environment with the widest possible human and material resources. From the foregoing philosophy, the derived objectives of the Department of Agricultural Production and Management Sciences, among others, are to:
produce a new cadre of manpower that will not only be able to engage in teaching but will also be able to practicalize the skills and knowledge gained by engaging in farming enterprises;
produce skilled manpower equipped with the appropriate communication skills for effective transmission of agricultural information and skills to the students in the context of their environment;
assist in the attainment of self sufficiency in the production of basic food and agricultural raw materials;
provide a sound background in enhancing further academic and professional advancement; and
adequately prepare the manpower that will be geared towards carrying out research in all facets of agriculture rather than engaging only in direct teaching and farming.
