NNU’s Northwest Nazarene Divinity School is designed to prepare ministry leaders for the twenty-first century as they serve the Church and advance the Kingdom of God. All Northwest Nazarene Divinity School programs are fully online and will allow you to further your education while working around your current life and occupational demands.
Northwest Nazarene Divinity School faculty members have earned their doctoral degrees from some of the world’s finest theological institutions, including Drew, Emory, Perkins, Asbury, Garrett, Claremont, Trinity and Fuller. Our experienced professors are fully committed to preparing you for Christian ministry while challenging you in ways that bring out your best, both academically and for your future in ministry.
Master of Divinity
For decades, the Master of Divinity degree has been regarded as “the gold standard” for individuals pursuing graduate theological education leading to vocational Christian ministry. NNU’s M.Div. degree is fully online, consists of just 75 semester hours and can be completed one course at a time. Although multiple factors may impact program length, it can normally be finished in just over four years. As an M.Div. student, you’ll work in an online learning community and complete a specialization of your choosing. Explore an array of disciplines in your coursework, including Pastoral Care, Leadership, Preaching, Christian Education, Bible, Theology, Worship, Evangelism, Church History and Philosophy. At NNU, our M.Div. also includes an interactive foundational core that allows you to tailor 16 credits in one of three specializations:

Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry
NNU’s 40-credit Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry offers you a streamlined ministry degree designed to meet all educational requirements for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene as well as fulfill most requirements from other denominations. Designed for busy adults, you can complete this fully online program one course at a time* in as few as 27 months.
*Students in their final year of study may complete Supervised Ministry concurrently with other course/s or enroll in it separately during the summer session.

NNU’s 36-credit Master of Arts in Leadership & Formation offers adult learners multiple options of focused study that can be completed fully online in as few as 24 months. With a cohort of 12-25 adult learners, you will progress through the program using our flexible online learning management system.

NNU’s Northwest Nazarene Divinity School Certificate Programs offer courses you can take for your personal or professional development or to get a jump start on a future graduate program in the same area of study. Graduate Certificates empower you to focus in a particular area of academic study at a pace that fits your schedule.
