Learning Standards
The Learning Standards Department is incharge of the curriculum and instruction from Pre-K to Senior High School (K-12) across the school. The department ensures that the curriculum is periodically reviewed, revised, and vertically articulated across all levels, supporting the developmental stages of learners. It promotes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches and focuses on learner outcomes through evidence-based education.
The Associate Principal for Learning Standards (AP-LS) ensures the alignment of academic goals and consistency in instruction, while collaborating with various academic clusters to infuse research and service learning. In the absence of the School Principal, the AP-LS supervises academics and leads the Chairs of different academic units in implementing curriculum strategies to foster student growth and achievement.
CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The curriculum designed for Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025 is based on the updated curriculum guides prescribed by the Department of Education (DepEd). Under the guidance and supervision of their academic mentors, DLSZ teachers streamline the competencies with the end-in-mind of prioritizing enduring skills to attain student learning outcomes. In addition, all academic units consider the results of the review of the students’ achieved competencies the previous year to ensure that foundations for the skills at the higher level are adequately mastered before moving on to the more challenging concepts.
General Features of the DLSZ Curriculum
Subscribes to the requirements of the Department of Education’s K to 12 Basic Education Program, which includes the MATATAG Curriculum;
Prioritizes the standards to achieve the desired student learning outcomes;
Ensures authentic experiences and milestones in developmental learning stages by gradually implementing the Integrated Challenge-Based Learning Program (ICBLP)
in a play, design thinking, inquiry, and research-based learning environment;
Supports the school’s Vision, Mission, and Educational Philosophy and complements what students are expected to learn;
Provides a venue for the holistic formation of students by honing their skills and competencies and developing their Christian values through the Lasallian Leader in Me (LLiM) Program; and
Integrates the effective and meaningful use of technology through the Next Generation Blended Learning (NxGBL) Program.
