I am thrilled that this wonderful year group have achieved such brilliant A Levels results; it’s a real testament to all their hard work of course. But also, so much to the culture and friendship of these terrific young people; their hard work, enthusiasm and camaraderie have been a trademark throughout their time here at Alleyn’s.
‘This year we celebrate 50 years of co-education, and the strength of our offer as a co-educational school is evident in our excellent results across arts, STEM, languages and humanities. I am delighted that a strong cohort of girls will be taking up places to study STEM subjects ranging from aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering to geophysics and maths; and that brilliant students who have honed their craft in our music rooms, theatres and studios will be going on to pursue drama, music and art at conservatoires and colleges.
‘I am also so hugely proud that students who received bursaries to attend Alleyn’s have secured offers at a wide range of highly competitive institutions including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial College, MIT, Manchester and KCL to study courses including Medicine, English Literature, AI, Maths, Law, Computer Science and PPE
.’
12% of students are taking places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities, with other destinations including outstanding US and European universities, music and drama conservatoires, art colleges, and Russell Group Universities including Edinburgh, Durham and Bristol. 95% Year 13 students take places at their preferred or insurance choice of university.

Boys and girls closely matched in achievement across all subjects including STEM and performing arts subjects
Head Jane Lunnon said

I am absolutely over the moon with the spectacular performance of our GCSE pupils across all their subjects. Their stellar grades are the result of the hard work and enthusiasm they have brought to learning at Alleyn’s, and the dedication of our staff who have worked closely with them and supported them every step of the way.

GCSEs test the mettle of children across a huge range of subjects and disciplines, which is why I am so pleased that today’s results shine a light on our strength in breadth. Whether it is the outstanding English Literature results across the board, fed by their sheer enjoyment of the texts they studied: Anthony and Cleopatra and Great Expectations; or this year group knocking it out of the park in Maths, the Sciences, History, and French, this is part of the school’s mission to deliver an excellent, full and enriching education that sets our pupils up for A Level study and builds the skills and confidence they need to carve their own paths for the future.
“In the year that we are celebrating 50 years of co-education, our results have shown equality in achievement for girls and boys across all our subjects: from computer science, biology and chemistry, to performing arts disciplines including dance and drama. Above all, the results are a testament to the passion and commitment this lovely year group has shown in every part of school life. Well done to them!

This year’s GCSE results follow strong results for Alleyn’s in A Level with 41% of exams awarded an A*, 81% receiving an A* or A and 94% awarded an A*-B grade.

Head, Jane Lunnon, said:
‘We are incredibly proud of every single one of our Year 13s for their achievements at A Level and the individual journey they have taken at
Alleyn’s. Their results demonstrate the hard work and passion they have shown every day and their strong performance across STEM, the humanities and the arts subjects reflects their wide-ranging interests across the breadth of our curriculum.
‘We are especially delighted by the accomplishments of our 14 Year 13 bursary students, whose dedication and achievements in their A Level courses have been a credit to their time at the school.  We also celebrate the success of two Ukrainian students, who have been studying with us since fleeing war in Ukraine, and who have both secured places at their first choice UK universities.
'Most importantly, this year group have been courageous, kind and supportive of one another through the challenges of covid, and beyond, with their achievements, a testament to their tenacity and strength of character and also, maybe most importantly of all, to their sense of friendship and sense of fun. They have been a joy to work with and we wish them every happiness as they leave us to study an exciting range of disciplines at a range of destinations, including Oxbridge, the Russell Group universities and overseas.’

Welcoming this year’s results, Head Jane Lunnon said: ‘
I am delighted that the hard work and enthusiasm of our Year 11s is reflected in their results today. Their immense character and passion is reflected in excellent results across STEM, languages, the arts and humanities, with an impressive number of students receiving A* or A in a mix of subjects across those disciplines, and with two individual students being awarded a national commendation for their art portfolios alongside first class results in other subjects. The strong performance of our bursary students is also a brilliant reflection of their important role in our school community, and we look forward to continuing to expand our bursary programme in the years to come.
‘This year group has shone in their ability to marry academic success with excellence and passion beyond the classroom on the sport field, the stage and out in our local community. Their achievements are a fitting testament to their resilience and hard work following the challenges of the Covid years, and bely the fact that these are the first public qualifications they have sat in exam conditions.’
