Thank you for your interest in Burke's! Event registrations and applications for the new admissions season will open on September 1.
In the meantime, we are offering Spring Tours for families interested in admission for the 2027-28 school year.
Please note that all applicants to Kindergarten must be age 5 by September 1 of their Kindergarten year.

: Sign up for a tour. We highly recommend coming on a tour and attending our Curriculum Preview (November).
Early January 2027

Application Deadline
Kindergarten and transfer student applications are due on this date. Application fees are non-refundable.
If our application fee is a financial burden for your family, please contact us at
admissions@burkes.org
to request a fee waiver.
January 31, 2027 - Collaborative Tuition Application Deadline
Mid-March 2027 - Admissions Decisions Posted Electronically in Ravenna at 12 p.m.
Parents and guardians will have one week to contemplate their decision and share it with the school.

Collaborative Tuition Workshop
Early December
(via Zoom)
A workshop designed to expand access and support greater socioeconomic diversity within our school community. We recognize that all families make some level of sacrifice to afford an independent school education, and Burke’s is committed to ensuring that Collaborative Tuition awards are fair and accessible for every student who needs them.
Kindergarten Readiness Visits
January
The Kindergarten Readiness Visit is a fun and engaging way for us to get to know your daughter and gain a sense of her development in preparation for kindergarten.
She’ll participate in group social activities with other children and Burke’s teachers, and also complete an individual academic assessment that highlights her skills and the unique qualities she brings to the classroom.
Appointment registration and more details will be available starting in December.
MOSAIC
December
MOSAIC is an admissions event designed for families of color, LGBTQ+ families, and adoptive families to connect with current Burke’s families who share similar identities and experiences.
Upper School Shadow Days
January-February
Upper School Shadow Days are held in January and early February. Students applying to grades 5–7 are invited to campus to experience a regular school day and take part in all its activities. During the visit, your daughter will also complete a brief academic assessment.
Lower School Shadow Days
January-February
Applicants to grades 3-4 are invited to campus to spend a day in a classroom and take part in a typical school day. During the visit, your daughter will also complete a brief academic assessment.
Applicants to grades 1-2 are not required to participate in a Shadow Day, but will be invited to campus in January or February for an academic assessment only.
Lower School Academic Assessments (For Applicants to 1st and 2nd Grade)
February
Applicants to 1st and 2nd Grade do not participate in a Shadow Day visit, but will schedule a one-on-one assessment at Burke’s. Registration opens in January.
