What is a transfer student? You are a transfer student if you are currently attending, or have attended, a community college or other four-year college/university after high school graduation or earning a GED. You are transferring to CMU from a different college/university. Admission Requirements Step 1 Apply Complete the application for admission Choose your application type and apply for admission. Self-reported SAT/ACT scores (Only if you have NOT yet completed 24 college credits after high school) Self-reported SAT/ACT test scores on the application are not used for admission purposes. They will be used for course placement purposes. $40 application fee Your application to Colorado Mesa University requests an application fee of $40. Contact your admissions counselor to waive your application fee. Step 2 Submit Transcripts Electronic Transcript Services: Parchment eSCRIP-SAFE National Student Clearinghouse *Official college and high school transcripts must be sent directly to a CMU official or CMU office from your previous institution or an electronic transcript delivery service. Official transcripts can be sent via electronic delivery service, by email to [email protected] or mailed to: Colorado Mesa University Admissions Office 1100 North Avenue Grand Junction, CO 81501 Official College Transcripts Must provide official transcript directly from every college/university attended, regardless of the type or amount of credit, academic status or time elapsed since credit was earned. CMU utilizes the National Student Clearinghouse to verify that all college transcripts are received for applicants. Failure to provide all college transcripts is grounds for rejection or dismissal. If you have NOT yet completed 24 college credits after high school, we also require official high school transcripts or GED scores Academic qualifications A minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 2.40 from all previously attended universities is generally required. Students with less than 2.40 GPA are still encouraged to apply. College credit earned during high school or military service If you earned college credit during high school, please have your official transcripts and/or test results sent directly to the Colorado Mesa University Admissions Office to be included in your transfer evaluation . CMU will review transfer credit through Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams or concurrent college/university courses.
