Offers visitors a look into railroad | Galesburg Railroad Museum Skip Navigation Visitor Information Hours: The Galesburg Railroad Museum is open for the season beginning April thru the end of September. Our 2025 season begins on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm.  We will be opened Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm. However, you still have an opportunity to visit our Museum.  With a 24 hour notice you may make an appointment to visit our Museum Sunday thru Saturday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Outside cars unavailable in inclement weather. Please call Annette 309-368-2858 or Maury 309-368-9208 to schedule your appointment.  Call these numbers if you have any questions. Railroad Days hours and info below. Admission: Adults (16 and up) $6.00; Youth (ages 8 to 15 with a paid adult) $3.00; Children (ages 7 and under with paid adult) are free. Parking: Available in the city parking lots on Seminary Street and on Mulberry Street Accessibility: The collections and exhibits located inside the Museum Building are handicapped accessible; however, the Locomotive 3006 and the rest of the Rolling Stock are not. The Galesburg Railroad Museum hours for the Railroad Days 2025 event are the following:  Wednesday and Thursday, June 25 and 26, from noon (12:00 pm) to 4:00 pm.  Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Sunday, June 29, from noon (12:00 pm) to 4:00 pm. Our Museum and Rolling Stock will be available during these days and hours (weather permitting on the Rolling Stock).  Tickets will go on sale at the start of each day.  Last tour of the Rolling Stock will start at 3:15 pm each day.  $6.00 for adults (16 and up), $3.00 for children (8-15) with a paid adult, children 7 and under free with a paid adult. Railyard Bus Tours will be Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28, from noon (12:00 pm) with last tour at 2:00 pm.  No Railyard Bus Tours on Sunday. This Bus Tour run approximately 40 -45 minutes viewing the railroad yards including from the County 10 bridge (for photo opt) from the bus.  Tickets for the Railyard Bus Tours are $5.00 for adults (16 and up), $3.00 for children (5-15) with a paid adult, children 4 and under free with a paid adult. VIP Railyard Bus Tours will be Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28 at 3:00 pm, with tickets going on sale at 2:00 pm.  Sunday, June 29, at 1:00 pm, with tickets going on sale at noon (12:00 pm).  This VIP Tour runs approximately 2+ hours viewing the railroad yards and tours inside the diesel pit and the tower.  All tickets are $30.00 with a total of 64 tickets available each day. We are pleased to announce that Hy-Vee Cookout will be in our shelter on that weekend selling their delicious food!!!  Their hours on Friday and Saturday will be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday will be 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The BNSF Railway will be hosting a few activities, including a wheel replacement demonstration on Saturday, June 28th around 11:00 pm.  They will have the little engine "Mini Mac" with free rides from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm!   They will also have a diesel locomotive on display!
