PIER71
PIER71, or Port Innovation Ecosystem Reimagined @ BLOCK71, was officially launched in June 2018, a collaboration between MPA and NUS Enterprise on developing the first industry-wide acceleration programme for the port and maritime industry. It comprises of three components/ activities: Smart Port Challenge (SPC), 8-week acceleration phase and ecosystem building.
To establish our presence in the start-up ecosystem and garner interest within the maritime industry, there will be a series of events and talks held throughout the year. This includes regular workshops and networking platforms, and innovation training for maritime corporates.
PIER71 has a 200 m
2
area co-working space at Launchpad @ BLOCK71 to accommodate up to 10 start-ups at any one time. The space will be maritime-branded to demonstrate the MPA and industry’s commitment towards growing the maritime technology start-up cluster.
