Driscoll Children’s Hospital Recognized as a Center of Excellence in Pediatric Sedation
Driscoll Children’s Hospital has earned the designation of Center of Excellence in Pediatric Sedation from the Society for Pediatric Sedation (SPS), recognizing the hospital’s commitment to high-quality, safe, and evidence-based sedation care for pediatric patients.
The designation is awarded following a comprehensive application and review process led by the SPS Quality and Safety Committee. Driscoll’s program was evaluated across multiple criteria, including clinical protocols, patient safety practices, team training, and quality improvement efforts.
As part of this recognition, Driscoll Children’s Hospital will be featured on the Society for Pediatric Sedation’s website and will receive a plaque commemorating the achievement. Formal public recognition will take place during the SPS Awards Luncheon at the 2026 SPS Annual Conference in New Orleans. The Center of Excellence designation is active for four years, through January 2030, reflecting sustained excellence and adherence to nationally recognized standards in pediatric sedation care.
