WELCOME TO IRDP
Dear Students, Staff, Partners, and Friends of IRDP,
I am pleased to welcome you to the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) – a national centre of excellence dedicated to advancing sustainable and inclusive development in Tanzania and beyond.
At IRDP, we are committed to nurturing professionals who are well-grounded in planning and development and equipped to craft real-world solutions to today’s complex challenges. Through rigorous academic programs, cutting-edge research, and community-based initiatives, we strive to contribute meaningfully to Tanzania’s national development priorities – including Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With vibrant campuses in Dodoma and Mwanza, IRDP offers a dynamic, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating environment where academic excellence, innovation, leadership, and critical thinking are cultivated. Our alumni continue to serve as catalysts for positive change across government institutions, civil society, and the private sector worldwide – a testament to the quality and relevance of our training.
