Meet the Acting General Manager
Bldr. Florence Omolola Gbaye, FNIoB, is a highly accomplished professional with over two decades of experience in construction management, regulatory enforcement, and public sector leadership. A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Building and Registered Builder (CORBON), she is widely respected for her commitment to safety, structural integrity, and sustainable urban development.
In August 2025, she was appointed Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), where she provides strategic leadership and oversees the Agency’s regulatory and enforcement operations across the State. Her role includes driving stakeholder collaboration, ensuring compliance with building codes, and promoting best practices in the built environment.
Before her appointment, she served as Coordinating Director and Deputy Director, Inspectorate & Quality Control (Ikeja Division), where she led major initiatives such as the Certified Accreditors Programme and supervised the construction of the LASBCA Headquarters.
A dedicated public servant, Bldr. Gbaye’s career has spanned key ministries including Housing, Rural Development, Local Government & Community Affairs, and New Towns Development Authority. Her strong leadership, attention to detail, and technical expertise continue to advance the Lagos State Government’s vision of achieving a safer, more resilient, and well-regulated built environment.
