Students are responsible for monitoring both accounts regularly, as University communications are distributed through these channels. SUS and SUSLA email accounts are provided through Microsoft Outlook 365 and may be accessed securely through a web browser, desktop email application or mobile device. 1. SUS System Email Format firstname.lastname@sus.edu Example: john.doe@susla.edu Initial Password Format First 4 characters of your last name First 4 digits of your Banner ID (#) Example : doe4444 The SUS account provides access to: Canvas Banner 9 Dashboard Dynamic Forms SUS Email Account 2. SUSLA Campus Email Format First letter of your first name First 9 letters of your last name Last 4 digits of your U-number Example : jdoe4444@susla.edu Initial Password Format Date of birth: May 1, 2019 Example : 050119 (DOB in MMDDYY format) The SUSLA account provides access to: Campus Computer login Wi-Fi Access SUSLA Campus Email Account Note: Tuition and fees must be paid in full, and the student’s account must reflect a paid or approved good standing status. Students with outstanding financial obligations will need to contact the Bursar. Security Notice – Protect Your Account The security of your University account is your responsibility. Do not share your password under any circumstances. No University official, faculty member, staff member, or DoIT representative will ever request your password. Do not approve any Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) request that you did not personally initiate. Unauthorized approval may compromise your account. Safeguard your personal and financial information. Never provide your Social Security number, bank account details, or other sensitive information in response to email, phone, or online requests unless you have independently verified the legitimacy of the request. Exercise caution with email communications. Do not click on links or open attachments from suspicious, unexpected, or unfamiliar sources. Immediately treat any uninitiated login attempt, password reset notification, or MFA prompt as a potential phishing attempt or scam. Report suspicious activity promptly to the Helpdesk. Failure to safeguard your credentials may result in unauthorized access to your academic records, financial information, and personal data.
