Once Accepted: Keep track of these next steps
Below are some of the most important tasks to complete once you have been accepted.
Confirm your enrollment by submitting your initial deposit of $1,000 (USD) by the date listed in your acceptance packet, usually within two weeks of receiving an acceptance. If your plans change, inform us by March 31, 2026, to receive a full refund. Deposit cancellations after March 31, 2026, will incur a $250 administrative fee.
No portion of the initial deposit is refundable after May 15, 2026, and no part of the second deposit is refundable after June 5, 2026. Both deposits will be credited toward your first semester’s tuition.

Your second deposit of $1,000 (USD) is due by May 15, 2026 (or for offers of admission after May 1, within two weeks of acceptance) and will officially confirm your place in the class of 2030.
Half of the second deposit is refundable by June 5, 2026, in the unlikely event your plans change after May 15, 2025, and no part of the second deposit is refundable after June 5, 2026.
Both deposits will be credited toward your first semester’s tuition.

NECO will be hosting its annual
Accepted Student Day / Housing Fair on Friday, May 1st, 2026
on campus in Boston. At the event, you will meet your future classmates as well as current NECO students, and have the opportunity to meet with representatives from local rental companies and landlords. More information about the day will be shared in the coming days, so keep an eye on your email box!
We realize that moving to a new city can be both exciting and stressful. To help with the transition, our Admissions team compiled information and resources to help you locate a realtor, moving services, and to be informed with tips and important details. Start by reviewing the information on our Housing Resources portal.

You will receive an email about your required background check from Certiphi one month after receiving an acceptance. Please complete this process as soon as possible.
There are fees associated with the process, and the costs vary from student to student, depending on the jurisdictions involved in the background check.
If your official final transcript from your primary institution is on file with OptomCAS, there is nothing more you need to do. You’ll be able to view which transcripts we have on file after you submit your first deposit.
If you are currently finishing college or taking summer coursework, complete your coursework and request that all finalized transcripts (with degree conferral, where applicable) be mailed or emailed to the NECO Admissions office.
An official, final transcript:
Is sent directly to NECO Admissions from your college or university registrar’s office.
Lists all coursework you took at your primary institution.
Includes a degree conferral date or graduation date.
Indicates the type of degree you earned.
Complete all prerequisite courses with a grade of C or better. A class with a grade lower than a C might be accepted at the discretion of the college if you scored a 300 or above on the corresponding section of the OAT exam. You can view a prerequisite evaluation in our Application Portal a few days after receiving an offer of admission. You will receive an email with instructions for accessing the Portal. Advanced Placement and IB courses will be accepted for their corresponding prerequisites if your primary institution has accepted the credit.
Your
immunization form
must be filled out, signed, and stamped by your doctor. We encourage you to begin the process of fulfilling your
immunization requirements
as early as possible, as some vaccination series take several months to complete.
Please note:
The Tuberculin Skin Test portion of the requirements must be completed
on or after June 1, 2026.
Students who have had blood titer tests showing immunity to any of the listed diseases must also include serologic proof of immunity (lab reports).
Please hold onto your completed
immunization form
until additional information regarding Med+Proctor is sent to incoming students via email in late June 2026. NECO uses Med+Proctor to collect and process student immunization records. After submitting your forms to Med+Proctor at that time, please keep the original form for yourself, as you may need it in the future for clinics.

for all questions regarding immunizations.
NECO is pleased to offer student health insurance for all students. Plan information for the 2026-2027 academic year will be shared via email in early July 2026, and the deadline to waive or enroll will be in mid-August 2026. Be sure to check back and watch your email for information and the specific deadline.
Students who have their own comparable coverage based in the United States will have the option to waive NECO’s health insurance plan.
As part of the visa process, international students are asked to provide proof of liquid funds sufficient to cover the first year of study at NECO. Please complete the
International Student I-20 Information form
The form includes:
I-20 Guide for Accepted Students
Foreign Citizenship Form for I-20 Issuance
2026-2027 Financial Certification Form
Support Letter
Once complete, send forms and all required documentation to the Registrar’s Office at
[email protected]
. The deadline to submit the forms is
June 15, 2026
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services requires certification of funding before a Form I-20 is issued. NECO requires proof of financing for one year to issue an I-20.
In addition, some of your questions may be answered by watching this previous webinar for international students:
New student orientation will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, September 2nd & 3rd, 2026. Attendance is mandatory for new students on both days.
Orientation is an excellent opportunity to speak with various members of the NECO staff and meet with your classmates.
