ELACSTA
the official Students’ Association of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department at NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, was established in 2017 through a collective initiative of students, faculty, and staff to foster academic and professional growth within the department.
To fulfill this vision, ELACSTA actively organizes a wide range of activities throughout the academic year. These include workshops on relevant ECE topics, along with lab-oriented sessions to enhance hands-on skills. Networking sessions are organized to connect juniors with seniors, providing opportunities for academic mentoring, project discussions, and career guidance. Career-focused talk sessions on higher studies, GATE preparation, and placement opportunities help students make informed decisions about their future. Additionally, students are encouraged to engage in project-based learning under the mentorship of seniors, fostering practical exposure.
A key initiative under ELACSTA is its Study Group (Academic Affairs) program, where senior students mentor juniors across all semesters by sharing notes, resources, and personalized exam preparation support, creating a collaborative academic ecosystem within the department.
To strengthen academic support within the department, a student from ECE developed the ECE Companion app - a comprehensive digital platform that consolidates essential learning resources. The app includes semester-wise notes, lab manuals, GATE preparation materials, and project ideas, all curated to meet the academic needs of students across all years.

Alongside academic initiatives, ELACSTA hosts cultural events to foster a sense of community within the department. Celebrations such as Diwali, Christmas, and Teachers’ Day, along with informal gatherings, provide students with opportunities to connect beyond academics, ensuring a balanced and vibrant student experience in the department.
To effectively manage and execute these activities, ELACSTA functions with a structured executive board comprising a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, and dedicated teams for technology, content creation, design, video editing, social media management, and event planning. This structure ensures smooth coordination while providing opportunities for students to develop their leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Through its consistent efforts, ELACSTA upholds the department’s commitment to academic excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and holistic development among students.
