Medway is a place steeped in history, yet always looking forward. Our Medway campus is the ideal place to start your student journey.
Where is Medway?
Haven’t visited Medway before? Don’t worry, we’re easy to find and just as easy to get to!
Medway is located in Kent in the South East of the UK. London is around 40–50 minutes away by train, making it quick and easy to travel into the capital.
Medway also has good access to major airports. Gatwick Airport is about 45–60 minutes by car or around 1 hour 30 minutes by train, while Heathrow Airport is roughly 1 hour 30 minutes by car or around 2 hours by train.
The towns of Chatham, Gillingham, and Rochester are developing vibrant arts and cultural scenes. At the same time, the surrounding countryside and coastline offer plenty of space to relax and explore, giving you the best of both worlds.

Rochester and Chatham offer a mix of high-street names and independent shops. While the Pentagon shopping centre and the Dockside retail outlet are perfect to get big brands on a budget.
Eating out
Our diversity is reflected in our food, you can choose from a whole host of international dishes offered in Rochester city centre. Or, why not eat by the waterfront overlooking the River Medway?
Staying out
Medway has a thriving music scene with regular live bands across all genres and venues. For clubbers, Casino Rooms in Rochester or Source Bar in nearby Maidstone offer a great night out.
Arts and culture
For film, cinemas in Chatham and Rochester offer reduced prices for students. The Central Theatre hosts music, theatre and comedy, while the Brook Theatre offers arts, dance and theatre classes.
Space for headspace
We aren't called 'The Garden of England' for nothing! There's nature all around us and 350 miles of coastline to explore. Nearby Buckland Lake Reserve and Capstone Farm Country Park are free to enter.

I was born in The Philippines and grew up in Dubai before moving to the UK to study. The Medway campus has been my second home for the past year. It has been exciting to immerse myself into the rich history of the area. Medway campus might be small, but it’s big in character and close-knit charm!
