Complete Admissions Requirements
After you submit your admissions application, review the
undergraduate
or
graduate
admissions ecampus tutorial and relevant tuition checklists (
financial aid
and
military TA
). An admissions representative will walk you through the follow-up steps you need to get started.

Preferred Military Rate
American Public University's Preferred Military Rate, which is $250/credit hour for undergraduate and master’s-level courses, is available to all U.S. active-duty servicemembers, National Guard members, Reservists, and their families, including parents, spouses, legal partners, siblings, and dependents.

Undergraduate or Master's-level Application or Transfer Credit Fees

Technology fee for all undergraduate courses. There is a technology fee of $85 for all master's-level courses.
The Preferred Military Rate is applied automatically for those who are eligible. The Preferred Military Rate supersedes all other university grants and special rates, and cannot be combined with any other special promotions. Please note that a technology fee applies to master’s-level courses.

Military Tuition Assistance (TA)
Coast Guard tuition assistance (TA) is offered to active-duty members, selected reserve (SELRES) members and Coast Guard Civilians (Permanent GS/WG Employees). TA covers up to 100% of the course cost, not to exceed $250 per semester hour and is capped at $4,500 per fiscal year.
Coast Guard students must submit an application through the Navy College Office's Virtual
WebTA portal
to use their military TA. Applications must be submitted no less than 7 days before the course start date and up to 90 days prior to the course start date.

Transfer Credit
You may be eligible to apply your documented military training, prior education or non-academic experience to your degree program at AMU.* We have partnered with the
U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Law Enforcement Academy
for professional undergraduate military credit and the
Coast Guard Institute
for professional graduate military credit.
