Trash matters in ways that we were surprised by – as a community organizing tool, and a community building tool, and an environmental issue.
Sarah Luria, Professor and Environmental Studies Department Chair
One of the great lessons that Nabokov, often in a very playful or ironic way, keeps demonstrating is that other people are as important as we are. That seems so simple, but I feel that it’s something very hard to practice. It's noticing and understanding. It's experiencing empathy. It's analyzing. It's being aware, which means looking more deeply at things and thinking more deeply about other people.
Susan Sweeney, Distinguished Professor of Arts and Humanities
The work our students do covers a wide array of timely and relevant socio-economic questions (that they come up with themselves), and the high-quality final projects can make meaningful contributions to the field of economics by offering fresh insights into local, national, and even international economic issues.
