Opening early 2026
One of Queensland's largest maternity services is coming to Springfield.
Antenatal clinics are now being delivered on site - please note that birthing services and our Springfield Pregnancy Assessment Centre will not open until 27 April.
Mater Mothers' Springfield will be located on Jagera, Yuggera and Ugargpul Country.
We are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare to mothers, babies and families and bringing care closer to home, to meet the growing needs of Brisbane's western corridor.
This public service will be here for patients through every moment of their journey through preconception, pregnancy, birth and early motherhood.
Families will have access to Mater Mothers' suite of services on level 5 of Mater Hospital Springfield from early 2026. Mater Mothers' Springfield will be home to a
24/7 Pregnancy Assessment Centre
, specialist midwifery and nursing support, and an onsite
Neonatal Critical Care Unit
which provides critical care services for babies who require lifesaving care or are born premature.
Mater Health Hub, Springfield
, a two-minute drive from Mater Mothers' Springfield, includes additional support for families including Mater's Fourth Trimester Essentials program - a six-week series of workshops providing mums and bubs with tips and tricks on breastfeeding, sleep training, mental wellbeing and more. Also available at Mater Health Hub, Springfield are women's health physiotherapy sessions and a drop-in breastfeeding clinic (bookings essential).
For the first time, Springfield residents will be able to birth and access maternity services close to home without the need to travel to Brisbane, Ipswich or Logan.
Referrals are now open - visit your GP to be one of the first mothers to birth at Mater Mothers' Springfield.

Antenatal clinics are now open on site.
All other maternity services including birth suites, NCCU, Pregnancy Assessment Centre and inpatient ward will open on Monday 27 April 2026.
Mater Mothers' Springfield can be found on level 5 of Mater Hospital Springfield.
Visting hours will be available once the facility opens.
