Hours and Schedules | Northwest Academy Hours and Schedules Northwest Academy’s academic day runs from 8:30 am to 3:50 pm Monday through Friday Arts After Hours elective classes generally run from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Calendar Northwest Academy’s calendar is designed to encourage educational excellence. Rather than disrupt class with many days off, the calendar features full five-day weeks so that students and teachers can get into the rhythm of learning. A highlight of the calendar is Northwest Academy’s two-week Spring Break, which gives our students a chance to recharge their batteries and spend time with their families. Inclement Weather Procedure Teachers and students are to check the website on days when the weather is questionable. Website alerts will be posted by 6:30 a.m. No web alert means there are no scheduled changes . Northwest Academy does not necessarily follow the same guidelines as Portland Public Schools.
