Become an Aviation Technician
Aviation technicians provide critical support to the aviation industry. Aircraft mechanics work on turbine engines, metallic structures, composite materials, and other systems that ensure the safety of millions of passengers each year. Avionics technicians diagnose, repair, and maintain the systems designed to keep a plane flying safely and accurately. Aviation technicians are often considered the most skilled and technically capable mechanics.
As a school for aviation maintenance, Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) has provided the hands-on skills you need to be successful as an aviation technician since 1929. Graduates have pursued opportunities in aviation maintenance, electronics, and other related fields.
Aviation technicians have dynamic opportunities which include commercial aviation, medical transport, military, space and much more. As an aviation technician, you will be part of a team of technicians who make the aircraft safe for passengers and crew.
