Background
The Managed Clinical Network was set up in early 2006 by the North of Scotland planning group to develop a network for Tayside, Grampian, Highland (including Argyll & Bute), Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.
The draft aims of the MCN are to
Effectively and actively manage network activities
Deliver evidence based services through the implementation of guidelines
Improve patient care in terms of quality, access and experience
Implement a quality assurance programme
Involve patients/carers in service development
Develop and implement effective clinical and information management systems
Develop opportunities for training and supervision
Support research and continuing professional development
A
Steering Group
has been established and has developed a Project Plan for the Managed Clinical Network
