The Otunba Gbenga Daniel Library, Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) recently launched a one-week Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Enhanced Research Training Programme for its final-year students, aimed at redefining how academic research is conducted.
The training titled: “AI-Enhanced Research Techniques,” is designed to simplify the research process for students, improve analytical outcomes, and enhance overall learning through the integration of intelligent digital tools.
Declaring the programme open, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Rotimi Ettu, charged the students to embrace the initiative with seriousness and curiosity.
He described the training as a timely intervention in an era where technology continues to reshape learning and scholarship.
“This is an opportunity you must not take for granted. Leverage on this platform to refine your research skills, not just conventionally, but intelligently and technically,” he stated.
In his remarks, the University Librarian, Prof. Adebambo Oduwole, underscored the strategic importance of the training, noting that it was designed to align students with global research trends driven by artificial intelligence.
“We are not just teaching research; we are teaching smart research,” Prof Oduwole stated.
“This initiative is meant to expose our students to cutting-edge AI tools that can enhance their academic work. These tools are not for shortcuts or academic dishonesty, but to simplify and strengthen the learning process,” he further added.
He further described the programme as a landmark initiative, the first of its kind in the University Library, which was carefully segmented across Colleges to ensure effective participation and hands-on learning.
With over 1,000 final-year students in attendance, the training signals TASFUED’s growing commitment to innovation, digital literacy, and academic excellence.
As the sessions unfold throughout the week, participants are expected to gain practical knowledge that will not only improve their final-year projects but also position them competitively in an increasingly technology-driven world.
