MOODLE – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Moodle is a web-based e-learning and course management platform that allows students to collaborate with Faculty and other students on a regular basis. In this modality, courses require that students complete at least an equivalent amount of work as required for a traditionally delivered course so that the acquired levels of knowledge, skills and/or competencies are at least equivalent to those acquired in a traditional format. Faculty may employ the same types of learning activities found in traditional courses, such as case studies, research projects and examinations, as well as require interaction with the faculty and the other students via chat sessions and online discussion boards. Typically, interaction occurs throughout the week, with assignments returned weekly.
SSU offers online courses in the following degree and certificate programs:
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT)
Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (GCIT)
Undergraduate Certificates
Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (GCBA)
Students may take more than 50% of the total required program classes via an online modality. International students with F-1 Visas may only enroll in online courses if they are simultaneously taking the minimum number of onsite courses as required for compliance with their visa.
To participate in distance learning instruction, students must be able to use a computer and have internet access. Students should have a computer with the following minimum configuration:
Windows 10 or later or Mac OS 10.12 or above
2 GB RAM or greater is recommended
0 GHz Intel or AMD processor or greater
Internet access with a minimum speed of 3 Mbps, higher speed is recommended
Sound Card and Speakers and/or headphones
Firefox or Internet Explorer 11 or higher. SSU recommends Google Chrome.
