Strength & Sports Medicine
At Hackley, we support student-athletes through expert care, purposeful training and a commitment to lifelong wellness. Strength, conditioning and sports medicine are integral to Hackley's commitment to the whole student.
Meet our Athletic Training and Exercise Science Teams
Our expert teams help students build physical strength, resilience and confidence through thoughtful training, injury prevention and recovery support. Working together, our strength-and-conditioning coaches and athletic trainers create a continuum of care that promotes athletic performance, lifelong wellness and a balanced approach to health. Whether in the weight room, on the field or in the training room, their shared goal is to help students move, compete, and grow safely and sustainably.
Athletic Training
Injury care, prevention, rehabilitation and performance support come together in the Athletic Training Room at Hackley to ensure the health and safety of every athlete on the Hilltop. Our skilled Athletic Trainers provide hands-on care, expert guidance and trusted support that extends beyond the playing field — building confidence, resilience and wellness in students. Their presence elevates the Athletics Department by fostering a culture of safety and professionalism, while also strengthening the entire school community through their commitment to student health and well-being. The Athletic Training Room serves as a vital hub for student-athletes and the greater school community.
Strength and Conditioning
Rooted in exercise science and best practices in athletic development, Hackley’s Strength and Conditioning program empowers students to reach their full potential. Through individualized training plans and an emphasis on proper technique, our coaches guide athletes in building strength, agility and endurance while minimizing injury risk. The program supports students at every level — from beginners learning foundational movement to seasoned athletes refining performance — and fosters a lifelong appreciation for fitness, discipline and personal growth.
Listen to Your Body
Pain and fatigue are signals, not obstacles to ignore. Early attention to discomfort prevents small issues from becoming major injuries. Our Hackley Athletic Trainers are here to assess and guide recovery — don’t hesitate to check in.
Train the Mind Too
Athletic performance is as much mental as physical. Practice visualization, set small goals, and use positive self-talk to stay focused under pressure. Confidence grows from consistency and preparation.
Hydration Matters
Even mild dehydration can affect focus and endurance. Aim to sip water consistently throughout the day — not just during practice. Add electrolytes during longer sessions to stay balanced and strong.
