Expl re Other Pillars People Programs Place Fifth Graders Explore France Fifth graders recently took a nine-day trip to France, focusing on language and cultural immersion. They visited Paris and La Rochelle, seeing significant landmarks, tasting French foods, and practicing their language skills. The trip is a capstone of their language learning in Maternelle and Lower School and allows students to gain valuable cultural understanding. Author Hashley Auguste Visits K-5 Students On March 5 and 6, author Hashley Auguste visited kindergarten through fifth-grade students. For older students, she focused on her writing process, while for younger students, she read her book and led a discussion on confidence. These experiences enhance language learning and encourage students to be globally minded leaders. Global Connections: German Students Spend Two Weeks At French International From October 3 through the 17, French International Middle School had 15 students and two teachers visiting from Pfullingen, Germany. The students stayed with French International host families, attended school, and explored the Pacific Northwest. French International Welcomes Exchange Students from Chile From September 14 to 27, French International welcomed 20 students and two teachers from the Greenhouse School in Temuco, Chile. The experience helps students and families learn more about another culture and make a global connection. Seventh Graders Spend Four Days in Ashland From June 3 to June 6, French International seventh graders went on a class trip to Ashland, focusing on theater, music, and art. They saw two plays, a concert, visited an art museum, and explored Ashland. The trip emphasized the arts, group travel experiences, and bonding time with classmates at the end of the school year.
