Welcoming a baby into the world is one of life's greatest joys. St. Joseph's Family Birth Center is happy to help you usher in your new little bundle of joy and get them off to a healthy start.
Maternity care
At St. Joseph’s Medical Center, our way of caring for you and your baby is designed to encourage togetherness and bonding, to teach you baby care skills, and to support you in those first important hours after the birth of your child. We call our method “Mother-Baby Care” because our doctors, nurses and other members of our childbirth team provide care for both you and your baby together.
Our birthing center features:
Pasteurized Donor Human Milk: A Safe and Healthy Option for Your Baby (PDF)
Private labor and delivery and recovery suites
Private mother-baby suites
Two fully-equipped cesarean section suites
24-hour obstetrical services
Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Level III
Lactation consultant and breastfeeding support
Social worker
Sleeper couches and televisions in each room
Separate waiting area for families
Welcome tote filled with essentials for baby

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
When babies are born prematurely or have medical challenges, it can be a distressing time. We fully acknowledge and understand the situation. You can take comfort in knowing that St. Joseph’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is equipped and ready to provide uncompromised quality of care. We strive to do our best to get your baby healthy and home.
Advanced Care for Infants
St. Joseph’s Medical Center has a 30-Bed Level III NICU. This means we can care for the tiniest and sickest of infants. For newborns who need intensive medical attention, St. Joseph's offers a caring environment combined with advanced technology and highly skilled neonatologists (doctors specializing in premature and high-risk babies), nurses, and respiratory therapists to provide specialized care. We care for over 500 babies a year in our NICU.

State Certified Respiratory Care Practitioners
Specially Trained NICU nurses
Clinical Nutritionists
