Due to inclement weather and hazardous travel conditions, the school will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.
SPRINGFIELD, Missouri –
The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) will become the new home of the Flower Pentecostal Heritage Center (FPHC), the largest international Pentecostal archive, effective April 1. The Center is currently located at the national office of the AG in Springfield and includes material in 179 languages.
Through partnership with the General Council of the Assemblies of God (AG), this transition strengthens AGTS’ commitment to serving the Pentecostal community by advancing world Pentecostal research and ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of global Pentecostal archive materials.
“Pentecostalism is a movement that has decisively shaped global Christianity, not only in its practices and institutions, but in its theological imagination, its spirituality, and its lived knowledge of God. It therefore warrants rigorous scholarship that treats Spirit-empowered faith as a legitimate object of historical and theological inquiry,” said Evangel University President Dr. Mike Rakes. “Placing these archives within AGTS is more than preservation. It is stewardship. We are receiving a living testimony of faithfulness across generations and placing it in the hands of scholars, pastors, and global leaders who will use it to discern what the Spirit is saying to the Church today.”
Items associated with the Assemblies of God USA, such as domestic AG historical display pieces and records will remain at the AG national office.
A signing ceremony commemorating the center’s transfer took place on March 3 with EU President Dr. Mike Rakes, AGTS Vice President Dr. Wade Mumm, AG General Treasurer Dr. Rick Ross and FPHC Director Darrin Rodgers in attendance.
