Bio:
My name is Marisa Adams, and it is my pleasure to serve the Woodbury community as an Academic Advisor. I received my B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay and I received my M.S. in Counseling from California State University, San Bernardino. Prior to Woodbury, I was in a K-12 setting as a school counselor. In my position, I am focused on supporting students in a welcoming, collaborative, and student-centered environment. I want to ensure that students leave Woodbury with not only knowledge, but valuable experiences. Outside of Woodbury, you can find me watching new shows, finding new music, and spending time with my pets.

Bio:
My name is Daniel Bejines, a class of ‘09 Woodbury University alum, and I’m excited to be back here as one of your Academic Advisors! While at Woodbury, I founded one of the longest running Hispanic-based student organizations on campus: La Voz Unida. Established in 2006. I took pride in being a student leader: Orientation Peer Advisor, Academic Peer Mentor, and as a member of Program Board, the campus student life and activities board.
Soon after earning my B.F.A. in Animation, I went to work in the animation industry. Managing productions for 12 consecutive years at various studios such as Warner Brothers, Hasbro Studios, Cartoon Network, and Netflix Animation to name a few.
I am passionate about helping others, and I am HERE to assist YOU with meeting your academic and professional goals!

Hi! My name is Jose Zamora, and I’m excited to be your Academic Advisor here at Woodbury University. I earned my B.A. in Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara and my M.S. in Counseling and College Student Personnel from California Lutheran University.
Before coming to Woodbury, I taught college success courses at Pasadena City College, where I worked to make the idea of college feel less overwhelming and more empowering for students. Now, I get to continue that work by supporting our diverse student community by helping you better understand your academic path, stay on track, and feel more confident in reaching your goals.
Outside of work, I love watching movies, playing video games, reading, and spending time with my loved ones. I look forward to meeting you!

Bio:
Throughout my career in higher education, accompanying students as they grow into the people and professionals they want to be has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work. College is a special time to explore, take risks, and make thoughtful choices that shape both your future and the difference you will make in the world. In Student Affairs and the Advising unit at Woodbury, we see ourselves as your partners and advocates. We’ll resource you with and coach you on the critical elements needed for degree progress, we’ll accompany you through the highs and lows (reminding you that seeking help is both strong and strategic), and we’ll encourage you to balance work hard with self-care.
Professionally, my background is in student learning theory and pedagogy, with a particular interest in meeting the learning needs for underserved populations.  I am passionate about the building campus and community partnerships that support high-impact educational practices (HIPs), engaged pedagogy, and experiential service learning.   Personally, I enjoy listening to all kinds of music, history podcasts, and baseball games.  In fact, if you stop by my office during baseball season, you very well may hear a Cubs game playing in the background.
