Departmental Profile
The Department of Statistics under Albert Einstein School of Physical Sciences, Assam University started functioning in July 2014. The department is located at the second floor of Physics building.
Mission
To establish the department as a leading organization in attaining excellence in research and education in Statistical Sciences.
Vision
To produce post graduates in Statistics who have a sound knowledge of the major areas of statistical methodology, with a solid foundation on theoretical principles attained through rigorous practice
To improve and strengthen Statistical Services to the entire research community of the University and beyond
To contribute to the advances of science and technology through interdisciplinary research
To contribute towards improvement of the research and educational environment of the department and university by conducting programs that enhance statistical thinking
To promote statistical reasoning and use of sound statistical practice in the university and beyond
To aim at all round development of the researchers of the university in general and Statistics in particular by providing training in data analysis
