Merit Scholarships
At CU Denver, we’re proud to honor students who go above and beyond. Merit scholarships recognize your achievements—academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to your goals. These scholarships are awarded based on your accomplishments, not financial need, and are our way of investing in your potential and helping you take the next step toward your future with confidence.
To be eligible, students must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credits) and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

In-state first-year students
Annual Amount
Up to $3,000
Eligibility Timeframe
Fall and spring Semesters for four consecutive years
Provost Scholarship
Who is eligible?
In-state transfer students
Annual Amount
Up to $2,000
Eligibility Timeframe
Fall and spring semesters for two consecutive years
Out-of-State Scholarships
Distinguished Scholars Scholarship
Who is eligible?
Out-of-state first year students
Annual Amount
Up to $5,000

Fall and spring semesters for four consecutive years
WUE Scholarship
