The school community and its two campuses offer a nurturing atmosphere that inspire creativity through the arts and develop critical thinking skills with an integrated curriculum and hands-on projects. Admission Admission Burgundy educates children from Junior Kindergarten through grade 8. The admission process begins in the fall prior to the year in which a student enrolls. B for Burgundy Community Community Burgundy doesn’t just refer to our school or our campuses. Burgundy is a beloved community. The Burgundy Difference Burgundy Difference The Burgundy community is united by its commitment to creating a learning community that affirms children for who they are and where they are developmentally and that helps all our students realize their full potential as students and as people. Giving Giving The Burgundy that our students and families love and enjoy today is the product of a handful of families doing together what none could have done individually: purchasing land, rehabilitating and raising buildings, hiring a professional faculty. Community Community Before & After School Before & After School Burgundy school hours are 8:25 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays, we dismiss all students at 2:15 pm. This year, Extended Day care and afterschool enrichment classes provide students and families flexibility around these hours. Transportation Extended Day Enrichments Morning drop-off begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 8:25 every day. Afternoon pick-up on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays begins at 3:15 p.m. and ends at 3:45. On Wednesdays, it begins at 2:15 pm and ends at 2:45 pm. There are four carpool stations; Burgundy staff help students out of the car in the morning and into the car in the afternoons. Placards are provided to each family or carpool group for display during afternoon pick-up so staff can call students to the carpool station. There is currently no daily bus service offered to and from Burgundy. Many of our families take advantage of the below options. Carpool Many Burgundy families share carpool responsibilities. We are happy to provide newly enrolled families with contact information for neighboring Burgundy families to help you organize transportation. Burgundy’s family directory, published electronically early in the school year, can also help families connect with neighbors. Van Some families opt to create a route via paid vanpool or ridesharing companies. There is a vanpool currently operating which transports students to campus from Washington, DC.  The schedule changes year to year depending on the students participating. Fees may vary.
