In 1925, a bold idea took root in Rochester: create an academic medical center where research, education, and patient care work together to improve lives. That idea gave rise to three institutions that would shape healthcare for a century—the School of Medicine and Dentistry, the School of Nursing, and Strong Memorial Hospital.
100 years later, we celebrate how they've shaped modern medicine, trained generations of leaders, and expanded care of the highest quality across our region and beyond.
The achievements of our first century have created great momentum for us to excel in all of our missions in our next 100 years.
