Military | St. Francis College Admissions & Aid Military Apply Now U.S. Military Students At St. Francis College, we're proud to welcome former and current members of the military to our community, whether you want to take classes before, after or in between tours of duty. We also offer opportunities to apply time spent in service towards your credit total. Military Experience Credit All branches of the military can receive credits for training: Military personnel (active duty, reserve, National Guard), Army, Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Navy Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Air National Guard and Space Force. Honorably discharged veterans or active-duty service members who have completed 6 to 18 months of active service in either the U.S. Armed Forces or those of another country may be granted five (5) credits of elective requirements toward a degree; those who have completed more than 18 months of service be awarded 10 credits of electives. Additionally, ACE equivalency credits may be granted with the submission of an official military (JST, AARTS, SMART, CGI) transcript. We’re proud to offer several scholarships for this student group, including: The Jeffrey Allen Clark Memorial Scholarship: The Jeffrey Allen Clark Memorial Scholarship was established by Mark ’73 and Marsha Clark in September 2017. This scholarship is intended for students with physical disabilities, veterans and/or first- or second=generation Americans. This is a partial scholarship. Henry Family Veterans Scholarship: The Henry Family Veterans Scholarship, established by Bruce '72 and Patricia Henry in September 2017, is intended for student veterans and/or students from immigrant families who are first-generation to attend college. This is a partial scholarship. George Reaney Veterans Award: The George Reaney Veterans Award was established by George’s son, Edward Reaney ’59 to honor his alma mater and his father. Through this award, Ed recognizes and celebrates St. Francis for changing his life and wants to ensure that future Terrier veterans and public servants have the same opportunity. This award is intended for veterans and public servants and is a partial scholarship. Tom Brokaw Veterans Scholarship: Tom Brokaw, an honoree at SFC’s 53rd Annual Charter Award Dinner, is a passionate advocate for our veteran community. St. Francis College has established a scholarship in his name and will be awarded to student veterans as well as students from military families. This scholarship is a tribute to Tom's leadership and excellence in his field, as well as his steadfast support of those who serve and preserve the freedoms of this great nation. VA Chapter 31 and Chapter 33 – Assessment of Late Fees In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e) , St. Francis College adopts the following additional provisions for any students using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Ch. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from the VA. St. Francis College will not: Prevent the student’s enrollment; Assess a late penalty fee to the student; Require the student to secure alternative or additional funding; Deny the student access to any resources (access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution. However, to qualify for this provision, such students are required to: Produce the VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or Form 28-1905 by the Last Day to Add/Drop class (per Academic Calendar); Submit a request to be certified; Provide additional information needed to properly certify the enrollment as described in other institutional policies.
