Holiday Training
Due to the physiologically demanding nature of the sport, structured rowing training continues during holiday periods (other than the summer break). Training provision will be set at an appropriate level for each age-group to continue the rowers’ development throughout the season.
Training Camps
At Perkins we hold two annual training camps.
The first is in October Half-Term for our Senior Squad (Year 11-13), and is a non-residential camp on the river in Pangbourne, giving our rowers the chance to row on a beautiful, longer stretch of the Thames, perfect for long distance work.
The second is for Year 10-13 rowers, during the Easter holidays at an overseas warm weather venue. This camp is used to help develop our athletes and racing crews ahead of the summer regatta season, with the prestigious National Schools’ Regatta just six weeks away.
