Making the Modern World online focuses on the history of technology since 1750. It is useful for subject enquiries. Ingenious is useful to answer specific questions about objects or subjects. If you have a question about an object in the Science Museum Group Collection, you can get in touch through our enquiry form For over 150 years we have acquired objects, photographs and archive material for the Science Museum Group Collection, to tell stories of the impact of science, technology, engineering, medicine and media on our world. We continue to welcome offers of items for the collection. But as we already care for seven million items, we are not able to accept everything that is offered to us. To join the national collection, donated items must fit within our collecting policy and not be hazardous or duplicate an item already in the collection.
