Wylie House Museum is the restored historic 1835 home of the first president of IU, Andrew Wylie. It is committed to illuminating the many histories associated with the home. Original artifacts and archival collections inform the interpretation of the museum, which is both a public history site and an academic resource, supporting the Indiana University curriculum through course instruction, reference-research support, tours, and student experiential learning opportunities.
We invite and encourage students, faculty, researchers, and the public to tour the museum, visit the historic gardens, and explore our collections.
Public hours are
Friday-Saturday, 10am - 4pm
.  Free, guided tours begin on the hour every hour, with the last one beginning at 3pm. The museum is closed on major holidays and during Indiana University breaks.
Please contact the museum to arrange group tours with more than eight people.
IU class visits and research appointments are available by appointment Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm.

In addition to the historic Wylie House Museum, the museum property includes interpretive gardens and the Morton C. Bradley, Jr. Education Center (317 E 2nd St.).
The Education Center is a modernized 19th century barn which provides public restrooms, air-conditioning, and a filtered water station. Staff offices, archival collections, and educational programming space are also located in the Education Center.
The museum has one accessible parking spot next to the museum's Morton C. Bradley, Jr. Education Center, with a path that leads to a ramp at the back door entrance of the museum. While the historic home's second floor is only accessible by staircase, digital images and virtual tour options are provided for visitors who cannot visit the second floor.
Please contact us in advance of your visit to discuss specific needs.
Designated, free Wylie House parking spots are located behind the museum and education center, accessible via the alley. Free, two-hour street parking is located directly in front of the museum on 2nd St.
Unisex public restrooms and water are available next door to the museum in the  Morton C. Bradley, Jr. Education Center, a modernized 19th century barn.
