With over 2,700 linear feet of materials —twice the height of the Empire State Building—the collection comprises more than 6 million pages of records Professionally curated and housed in a climate-controlled environment that meets rigorous conservation and archival standards, the Archive is meticulously cataloged using the PastPerfect database , offering detailed descriptions and searchable entries throughout. What You’ll Find The Archive includes: Serials and periodicals Personal papers and correspondence Artifacts and textiles Sound recordings and multimedia Ephemera and rare materials Originally centered on Florida and the Southeastern United States, the collection now reflects LGBTQIA+ experiences from across the country—with select international holdings that broaden its global relevance. The vast majority of our holdings have been donated by individuals who believe in preserving LGBTQIA+ history—and we welcome your contributions. We accept donations of: Magazines, newspapers, and serials Personal papers and correspondence Photographs, objects, and ephemera Materials that reflect LGBTQIA+ life and legacy New donations arrive weekly , and each item is carefully reviewed against our existing holdings. If a contribution fills a gap or improves the condition of a current item, it is added to the collection. Duplicates are shared with other LGBTQIA+ archives whenever possible, extending the reach of your generosity. Expanding Representation We recognize historic gaps in our holdings—especially materials created by or for BIPOC communities . We are actively working to address these shortcomings and seek donations that reflect the full diversity of LGBTQIA+ experiences . Your support is essential to this effort. Ready to Donate?
