Graduate students in the Department of Geosciences work with internationally-recognized faculty in a collegial and supportive environment. They collaborate with faculty and publish cutting-edge research while successfully competing for jobs, scholarships, grants, and awards.
Our graduates find rewarding, in-demand careers solving problems faced by our communities and answering questions about how Earth works. Industries employing our alumni include environmental consulting; geological engineering; local, state, and federal agencies; resource exploration; non-profit organizations; academia; and museums and research institutes. We also have an optional
career-readiness program to help you explore and prepare for these careers
