To access our facilities and expert medical staff as efficiently as possible, please follow the steps below so we can best assist you while still complying with federal regulations, including HIPAA. To help meet tight deadlines, please direct all inquiries to our PR/Media Communications Team (see below) first. A phone call with an accompanying email containing specific questions is preferred, so we can accurately match your request with the best expert available. We have experts in medicine, health care, behavioral health, and rehabilitation medicine who can inform the public about medical advancements and health and well-being topics. However, because patients are their foremost priority, we may need to offer a substitute interview subject or a timeframe outside of your original request. In addition to providing information for your story, we can assist with photographs and digital images, interview scheduling, and background information on procedures and physician staff. For any on-property video or photography, you must be escorted by a member of our PR/Media Communications Team. All patients must sign a consent form prior to being videotaped, photographed or interviewed. A HIPAA consent may be revoked at any time by the patient, a family member, or a designated individual acting on behalf of the patient. Patient confidentiality Patient care is our primary mission, and we are responsible for safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of all patients. For this reason, MercyOne does not release any patient information, including condition reports, and does not validate condition assessments provided by law enforcement.
