In order to meet the challenges of globalization and liberalization and to develop an institution of excellence in legal education, Jagan Nath University established the Faculty of Law in the year 2009 offering BA.LLB and BBA.LLB Five Year Integrated Courses. The Faculty also runs LL.M. One Year Course and Ph.D. programme as per UGC guidelines. The Faculty of Law is dedicated to create a new breed of dynamic and future Law Graduates who will be in a position to use the knowledge acquired here towards the creation of a better society and indeed, a brighter future for themselves. It teaches you to open your mind and think differently.Today, law is the pathway to financial rewards, intellectual stimulation, prestige, family influence, social change & career flexibility and above all acquiring a knowledgeable position in the existing society.The Faculty of Law inculcates amongst students a high degree of professionalism with a sense of responsibility towards the society. To acquaint the students and faculty with latest developments in the field of Law, the distinguish Professors, Judges and Advocates are regularly invited for special lectures.
Department of Law
The Faculty of Law has been envisioned to cater for a world class legal education comprising of a perfect blend of academic, clinical, professional as well as socially utilitarian education. The faculty, with a clear understanding of the professional requirements in the legal arena in the contemporary times, has a well-balanced curriculum to be delivered to the students so as to make them profession centric and worthy of living up to the expectations of the much demanding legal profession. The faculty is adorned with qualified and efficient faculty members, handpicked through rigorous processes of screening and selections. The faculty provides a conducive atmosphere around its faculty to ensure progressive academic fervour and an orientation towards research and consultancy. The faculty promotes exponential academic growth of teachers and students through seminars, conferences, workshops and trainings.
The faculty hosts numerous co-curricular, extra-curricular and cultural activities periodically to chisel the personalities of the students. These include moot sessions, client counseling sessions, mock trials, Parliamentary debates, various competition and specifically tailored programmes to commemorate occasions like Hindi Diwas, Law Day, Human Rights Day etc. The faculty has connections with members of the Bar, members of the Law Firms and members of Judiciary to provide the best professional exposure and to cater for the Internship requirements of the students. It also has a close-knit Placement Committee to ensure a decent placement of its students. The Faculty of Law ensures a balanced focus on academics, professional virtues, social, cultural and moral values produce legal professionals with compassion and humility. Faculty of Law aspires to be a world acclaimed Center of Professional Excellence dedicated to the noble cause of law and justice. We aim at preparing versatile lawyers and legal professionals to help the society in delivering them their basic rights and dues.
