In accordance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Diocese of Richmond requires all volunteers who work with minors (under 18) or vulnerable adults to complete both background screening and training.
Required Steps for All Volunteers:
Background Check
Must be completed before beginning any volunteer service
Renewed every five years
VIRTUS Safe Environment Training
A one-time, three-hour session
Includes ongoing online bulletins for continued awareness and education
