All Promotions of all Scientific and Technical personnel of BARC, DAE are based on merit. The promotion scheme therefore is known as, "Merit Based Promotion Scheme".
Starting your career as a young Scientific Officer C (in Pay Band-III) these merit based promotions can take you to the level of Distinguished Scientist (in HAG) or Apex Scale.

Rapid advances in technological knowledge make continuing education of working professionals, a very important aspect of career growth. The Continuing Education Programme (CEP) at BARC, DAE has been set up, to meet the trained, skilled manpower and knowledge upgrade needs of the organisation.
An employee can enhance his/her academic qualifications, under the Continuing Education Programme.
You can enroll for the PG Diploma at the Homi Bhabha National Institute.
You can enroll for the M.Tech. / M.Phil programme of the Homi Bhabha National Institute.
You can enroll for the Ph.D. programme at the Homi Bhabha National Institute.
Pursue M.Sc.(Engg) programmes of Engineering Sciences at HBNI.
Acquiring additional qualification is also possible through courses such as: Bachelor / Master in Library Science, B.Sc. (IT/CS), M.Sc. (CS/IT), AMIE, B.E. M.E. or any other specialized and technical subject areas.
