Our Departments
Explore our four dynamic departments, each offering unique opportunities for academic and creative growth.
Department of Economics
Understand systems. Drive equitable growth.
Our Economics Program explores market systems, global inequality, and economic policy through a social justice lens. Students examine economic structures and develop skills to analyze labor, wealth distribution, and sustainability, preparing for careers
Department of Political Science
Politics as a platform for liberation.
This Program explores American government, international relations, policy analysis, and Black political thought. Students lead civic engagement initiatives, intern at the state capitol, and prepare for careers in law, government, advocacy, and education. Home to the Eric H. Holder Public Policy Program.
Department of Psychology
Understanding the mind to heal the world.
Our Psychology Program centers on behavioral science, cultural competency, and mental health justice. Students engage with topics like trauma, identity, and community wellness, with pathways to counseling, social work, research, and graduate studies in clinical psychology or psychiatry.
Department of Sociology & Social Work
Transforming society through radical care.
This department equips students with the skills to understand social systems and intervene on behalf of the marginalized. Students analyze race, class, gender, and institutional power while gaining hands-on experience through community fieldwork and advocacy projects.
